Resident Membership
What is a New View "Resident Member"?
Residents are the people who live here! This includes homeowners, their children, and adults who rent space from a homeowner. There is an expectation that residents will support the community through participation in committee work, meetings and social events.
New View is organized as a condominium -- that is, households own their own house and co-own all of the common property such as the land and the Common House. Homeowners pay monthly condominium fees, which vary based on the size and location of the unit. Homeowners elect a Board of Trustees, also known as the Steering Committee, and make decisions on budget matters by consensus.
Residents agree to abide by the Rights and Responsibilities agreement of New View.
Currently there are about 55-60 residents living in 24 households, depending on how you count college-age children who come and go.
